The Imperial Guard is the massive, galaxy-spanning army of the Imperium of Man. It is a grim, bureaucratic war machine composed of countless regiments drawn from countless worlds, each reflecting the culture and environment of its home. Though technologically advanced, the Guard's equipment is generally utilitarian and mass-produced, emphasising reliability over elegance. The Guard's hallmark is its ability to field vast infantry formations supported by tanks and artillery—making it the primary instrument through which the Imperium wages its endless wars against alien threats, heretics, and the forces of Chaos.
